When I originally announced to followers, friends and family that I intended to take a year (largely) off of my business for my maternity leave, I got a lot of interesting looks! I guess I can understand that! The average maternity leave in my area of the US is 6-8 weeks. So planning to take 6-8 months as a minimum is a rather large undertaking.
