Colorful Floral Wedding Invitations | Secret Garden Collection
If you haven’t seen my review of the wax seals included in The Secret Garden, my exclusive collection with Artisaire, then you might want to either start at that blog post or you can watch the brief overview here.
In this blog post, I’m excited to dive into the Tete'a'Tete wedding invitation suite.
This full wedding invitation suite (including “day of” and “thank you” cards) was one of my favorites to create. It’s a design aesthetic that has lived in my head for ages now and it was so fun to get it onto paper. I wanted to push myself to work with a bright and colorful palette instead of the tonal designs that my wedding invitations regularly consisted of when I was working in wedding stationery. The floral motif of this design certainly steals the show and the envelopes are probably my favorite of the entire collection! I adore a watercolor floral envelope!
Let’s look at the Tete'a'Tete invitation collection as a whole…
This suite, like so many of my other designs, has two design elements that are at play with each other. The first is the petite watercolor florals shown on the invitation in graceful wreath and repeated on different elements (including the reply envelopes!). This elegant and playful design brings new life into the design and plays with the colorful wedding trends that are going to be EVERYWHERE this upcoming year. It is a beautiful and exciting way to highlight some of your own personality without sacrificing beauty.
The second design element is a pinstripe that is carried throughout the suite. On the backs of some cards and on the largest envelopes. These design elements pair beautifully to bring a little rest and structure without overpowering the designs of the florals and wreaths.
A simple monogram is also repeated throughout the suite in various ways, and is always the perfect size to cover with a wax seal to add even more personality and interest to your invitation suite.
See how well the subtle pin stripe on the detail card pairs with the full watercolor floral pattern on the reply envelope? They are constantly paired together to bring color and bold personality to the wedding invitation suite and I just love how it all came together.
The table numbers feature the same bold floral pattern seen on the reply envelopes and the Save the Date, as well as on the back of several of the inserts. This motif draws interest and takes your table numbers from boring to bold and beautiful without stealing the show. These bold table numbers are paired with a simplified menu featuring stripes and the same unique frame.
The wedding programs, by contrast, featuring the simple and elegant wreath surrounding a clean monogram. This monogram is the perfect size to be covered by a wax seal, allowing the beautiful florals to come out the edges of the seal to create a truly unique and beautiful effect. (shown featuring the Tulip wax seal design)
From your save the dates to your final “thank you” cards, the petite watercolor florals in the Tete’a’Tete wedding invitation suite are a bold and colorful way to communicate with your guests and show off your personal style. Personally, I love how the reply cards bring an unexpected flair to the invitation suite, and that simple but stunning save the date is the stuff that dreams are made of! (my dreams, anyway! HAH)
If I was to get married again (to Todd, of course), this is probably the suite that we would pick. It represents so much of what I love about design, color and florals. Paired with the elegant pin stripe, I don’t think it’s too feminine to represent both sides of a wedding party and it certainly is one to remember!
See that vellum belly band?!? It’s a stunner—definitely my favorite belly band of the collection.
Another thing to love about this suite is the fact that it pairs so beautifully with SO MANY of the exclusive Secret Garden wax seal designs! A few of the designs to highlight though are the tulip wax seal (personalized version here) and the forget me not design (personalized). I also paired this design with the “Garden Roses” design because, even though there are no roses in the motif, the graceful movement pairs with it beautifully.
Of course I love a creamy gold wax, but I also used the Dusty Blue, Buttercream and a retired hot pink wax (Vintage Rose would be pretty too).
